BioJosiane is the second daughter of the King of the Copper Isles. She was one of the five plotting against the King of Tortall, and had briefly been in Prince Jonathan's favour, although he quickly cast her aside, having used her to show Alanna of Trebond that he didn't need or want her. Thirsty for revenge, Josiane soon fell in with Delia of Eldorne, Alex of Tirragen and Roger of Conte, and by extension Thom of Trebond.
She was killed during the abortive coup by Alanna of Trebond.
Josiane is insane, and a little unstable. Most of the time she is a calm, mild, demure young lady, as befits a girl in Tortallan society, but if she's insulted or somebody she cares about is insulted or hurt, she can lash out at whoever she perceives is the wrongdoer. Her madness is such that she sees people as more like objects than beings with their own feelings; although there's little active malice in her, often she can hurt people without meaning to, just because her way of thinking doesn't take into account people having emotions.
This isn't to say Josiane doesn't have emotions or is incapable of caring; she forms her own attachments, often for no apparent reason, and these attachments can be easily or arbitrarily broken. She sees most people as sort of moving dolls most of the time; if they manage to work their way into her affections they become more real to her, but quickly regain their status as an especially mobile sort of ornament or toy once she loses her interest.

Josiane is tall and beautiful, with blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. She is also utterly mad; her family has bad blood, and births a mad child every generation or so.
Josiane is from Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness Quartet, and no profit is being made from this journal.
